Status evaluation (current): established by several authors {but recently, based on molecular data of several populations}.

Systematic remarks (with taxonomic history): insufficiently defined initially (taxonomic history : provisionally regarded as a distinct species since description in 1976 ; however doubts are expressed by Huber, in 1992, and Lazara, in 2001, places it into synonymy but without justification, and in 2014, Ponce et al. molecularly show that is is identical to cylindraceus, with lack of renewed evidence of sympatry with cylindraceus at type locality, and it is today considered as a junior synonym of cylindraceus).
